We Have To Win is a text-based artwork, quoted from the website of Rideshare Drivers United - California:
“It’s not enough to protest - we have to win. We are a united nations of drivers, here and across the country, and we’ve come together unified by the issues that hurt drivers and our profession: unfair pay, no voice on the job, unjust deactivations."
Rideshare Drivers United is a democratic, driver-led movement of over 20,000 rideshare workers founded in 2018. It is fighting for a just rideshare industry where drivers have a right to organize without retaliation, and a real voice in their jobs:

"New Demands? Part II" is a hybrid research/visual essay. It combines text-based artworks from my ongoing series New Demands? with contextual research and writing on historical and present-day exploitative working conditions in the garment industry, the gig economy, and academia. Some of the art works (like this one) were created for the essay; other are reproductions or re-interpretations of prior works created and exhibited under the larger framework of New Demands?
